My story
I went fishing for the first time at 5 years old and was hooked instantly. I grew up only 3 miles from the Lake Ontario shoreline with a tributary running through my yard.
At the age of 9 I decided I wanted to fly fish so I told my parents I wanted a fly rod for Christmas. My dad didn’t fly fish so he asked around at work about it. His answer to me was that the guys at work say it’s really hard. My answer back was I don’t care I want to fly fish. I did find a fly rod that year under the tree. That summer I went camping with some of those guys that my dad had talked to about it and they couldn’t believe it when they saw a 10 year old casting a fly rod like he had been doing it for years.
Five years later I taught my dad how to cast a fly rod on the famous Ausable river. After high school I attended Alfred State College where I earned 2 Associates Degrees and taught many of my friends the art of fly fishing on the Genesee River.
At the age of 27 I decided it was time to share the knowledge I had gained over 22 years of fishing this area and started my guide business.
I currently work full time for Novelis Corporation as a millwright, spending most of my days off and my vacation time guiding and fishing.
As you can see I love to fish and love to teach people how to fish. There is nothing I like more than helping a person catch their first fish of a certain species or teach them a new technique.
