Cayuga lake offers excellent fishing for brown trout, rainbow trout, lake trout and Atlantic salmon. The best part is due to the depth of the lake the south end doesn’t freeze making it a year around fishery. I offer trips all year long. These are primarily trolling trips. If wanted there is the opportunity to jig for lake trout as well.
The fish in Cayuga lake also make excellent table fare. I didn’t think I liked the taste of lake trout until I had one from Cayuga. Another bonus is that a blow off day on Cayuga is very rare. It does get bumpy at times but it is normally still fishable. The nice part about trailering the boat is we have the option to fish the end of the lake the wind is coming from if it is going to be rough.
The Finger Lakes are a great family destination as there are many attractions other than the excellent fishing. From waterfalls to wineries to shopping there is something for everyone.
