Bass season in New York officially opens the third Saturday in June. You can however, catch and release bass all year long in most parts of the state. I offer a variety of trips for both large and small mouth bass. Many of my bass trips are combo trips with other species such as trout, walleye, or pike.
The different options for bass fishing are:
Lake Ontario – Smallmouth bass trolling or casting from June through September
Sandy Pond – Largemouth bass casting along the weed beds and docks. Can be a pike combo trip. June through September. Spin or fly fishing.
Salmon River – Smallmouth bass float or wading trips from May through August. Fly or spin fishing
Tug Hill – Smallmouth or Largemouth bass. Floating streams for smallmouth and brown trout, back country ponds for largemouth bass or the Salmon River Reservoir for large and smallmouth bass aboard the Lund. Spin or fly fishing.
